Stories that I will forget and haven't recorded yet, so I wanted to!
Fort McMurray, AB:
I remember in May of 2008, we were up in Fort McMurray, a mining town way way up north in Alberta. It began snowing on Sunday morning during our concert, and continued to snow through Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. By Tuesday there was already about a foot and a half of snow. We ended up cancelling school. So the girls and I got dressed up in the host auntie's dress up clothes and put on her make up and did a fashion show. Although she repeatedly wanted us to watch a movie, being the good auntie I am i was firm and didn't let us watch a movie, as tempting as it was.
October 2008:
We were staying in this little tiny town in New York state, and it was beautiful outside. Some of the aunties and I went out and looked at pumpkins and took some pictures between the morning concert and the evening one. We stayed at this church for three days, and after school on Monday, a bunch of us went over to Beth's host family's house. Her family flew planes for a living, and had several model airplanes that they had restored. We got to go for airplane rides. They used two of the planes to take us up, I got to ride twice. In my life, I've always wanted to do a barrel role, so the pilot did 2 different ones in our first trip. It was as exciting or scary as I was envisioning... but still fun! The second trip, he let me drive the plane!! woohoo!:) That was pretty fun. That family said they actually have taken vacations and flown those planes to the Bahamas... wow, rough life to fly your planes to the Bahamas for a vacation!
